About Us:
David's Bio:
I started playing poker at a young age. My mother would keep a jar of pennies on the table for those late night penny ante games with my cousins. I would always sneak downstairs in the morning and count the pennies to see how much she had won. You see, losing wasn't an option for my mother. She knew when to hold them, knew when to fold them and knew how to lay down a bluff when she had no business being in the hand. I continued playing, long after my wonder years had passed. Eighteen years as a member of the U.Y.A.P.C. helped establish my credentials as a very solid player. The Up Your Ante Poker Club still invites me to play in their holiday games and it's good to play with old friends. No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em Tournaments have been my mainstay for the past two years. My vocabulary has expanded to include words like flop, turn, river, tells, blinds, fourth street, fifth street and so many more. I won some, placed in a few and have walked away just out of the money. I never really saw the poetry in the game until I visited Las Vegas and walked into the World Series of Poker. Two hundred tables and players from around the world throwing down their chips with a dream of becoming a world champion. It was inspiring! This site is dedicated to those of us who dare to dream. You are all invited to share your dreams with the true dreamers. The Poker Poets.
